Facebook made me profoundly
unhappy. So has most social media.
The reasons should be obvious to anyone
who pays attention to the amount of negativity and blame that amounts
to the vast majority of people's apparent raison d'etre. My paltry
attempts to mitigate that by engaging in snarky ironic humor which
lays the blame on the blamers has been met with – as near as I can
tell – those who believe I was being serious.
I shall not engage in it anymore. It is
a fool's errand. A fresh start as it were, was required. I have
decided to start this blog to share that which I feel is important to
me; an online journal in some small respect that may or may not be of
interest to friends, family, and perhaps strangers. I will only
engage in the following topics:
Crafts/Hobbies/DIY (examples, projects,
and completed work)
Family (but only in general and not too in depth)
Food and Drink (recipes,
recommendations, and so on)
Freemasonry (activities, ruminations,
essays, and the like)
Geekery (predominately LEGO)
History (ruminations and essays)
Literature/Books/Reading (reviews and
observations)
Maps and Cartography (both my own and
actual maps)
Nature/Travel (walks, hiking, camping, family
outings, and so on)
Philosophy and Spiritualism
(ruminations and essays)
Pop-Culture (movies, tv shows,
music...)
Sports (predominately the SJ Sharks and
SF 49ers)
I intend to do my utmost to avoid making
any commentary on specific modern political situations. My political bent is Libertarian/Constutionalist which may come across in my writing, but I will not use it as a direct source of commentary.
